This is a great, authentic Mexican restaurant to eat at. They have delicious asada, the tortillas are homemade and fresh. The red sauce is to DIE for. Soooo good. Their red salsa is some of the best in Sacramento. Inside they have a bar if you want to get your drink on while eating bomb food.
The tacos here still live up to the expectations I have of them. Their prices went up a little so it's $10 for 3 taqueria tacos but that's good for me. They still have a decent salsa bar and the chips are good. They changed the order counter to the room without the bar. It was alarming at first but it's better for everyone. They lost the menu board and sadly, like all eager-to-raise-prices businesses, they adopted TV monitors for the menu. Sigh. Anyway, when I came in a few days ago, everyone was wonderful from polite customers to helpful staff. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food (and we're not talking about fattening rice & beans - although I think they have them), you need to come here. Growing up in and near San Jose, this spot feels like home. Which, like East San Jose, violence happens in the area - it is Northgate. Just be smart, be kind, and you'll be just fine.
Solid food. Rate a 6.5/10 on taste. Asked for extra crispy on the tripas and honestly I like it EXTRA crispy so didn't finish that one. Chorizo was bomb. Solid spot overall
When I say I love this place I mean I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Omg it's so good, service, food and drinks!!! If you happen to be driving by off Northgate do yourself a favor and stop in. They have a patio in back as well! The ambiance is very inviting.
The food was great got it for pickup. Super quick and ready right away. The flan is delicious authentic flan. The carne asada tacos were great and the horchata was really good too!
It can be a little intimidating walking in to order, but it is well worth it every time. The Mexican food here is always amazing, and the service is always very quick and friendly. The Molcajete that they serve here is a staple for me and my partner. It's enough for both of us to share, but the other food we've ordered here has always been very good. There's always a churro stand right outside if you need a fix for your sweet tooth. There's parking to the left and to the right of the place. The place is located in a rougher part of town so make sure you don't leave any valuables in plain sight.
Burrito heaven. The aguas frescas and platos are also a must try. El bramido is a quick sit down and dine spot or they have a separate dining area/bar area for those looking to wind down after a hard day at work. The chips and salsa is always fresh and replenished and omg they have this super spicy oil that is my fav! Let it burn in and then out My usuals is the carne asada tacos and super burrito. Can't go wrong with that. Sometimes if I'm feeling like it I would order Ceviche de camarón, however I usually prep that at home for freshness and my diligence in removing the guts My kids love the horchata here and their plain ol kids burrito. Skip the flan it wasn't memorable.
Must try, great for groups! We walked in and the cashier took our order, they have a HUGE selection of menu items and different meats. They had music playing, they have a full bar, and great selections at their (free) salsa bar! The staff were all friendly and delivered the food to our table. The quality of food was great. Our favorite was definitely the camarones rancheros, so much flavor and sauce! Their micheladas were so tasty, not too spicy. We decided to try their flan, AMAZING! You get such a big portion. Overall all fresh and great quality food.
